Where Filing Happens
On the administrator site named in the settlement notice and in the court order granting preliminary approval. That is free, and it is the only place a claim is validly submitted.
What You Usually Need
For rider claims, the account email and the period of use. For driver claims, the driver account and the period and states driven. The platform holds trip and earnings history, so administrators generally verify eligibility from the defendant records rather than requiring you to produce documents.
Export Your Data Before You Need It
Both rider and driver accounts allow a data export covering trips and earnings. Requesting it early is sensible: an account that is deactivated or closed becomes considerably harder to retrieve history from.
Avoiding Lead-Capture Sites
A genuine claims process names the court and case number and is run by a court-appointed administrator. Any site that collects your details without identifying the case, or charges a fee to file, is not part of the process.
Where This Fits
This page covers one part of a wider set of claims. For the full picture see Uber Class Action Lawsuit: The Active Claim Categories, which sets out how the different claims relate to each other and who each one covers.
Before You Act
Thinking About Filing a Claim?
Most plaintiff lawyers offer a free initial consultation and work on contingency, meaning no fee unless there is a recovery. LawsuitWatch is not a law firm: we publish explainers, and we do not provide legal advice, representation or referrals. Your state bar directory is the reliable place to find and verify a lawyer.
Uber Class Action Sign-Up: Filing a Claim the Right Way: Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions about this case and your legal options.
Is there a fee to join?
No. Court-approved claim administration is free to class members. A site charging to file for you is selling something you can do yourself at no cost.
What if my driver account was deactivated?
Deactivation does not remove you from a class covering the period you drove. Request your data export as early as you can, since retrieving history from a closed account is harder.
Do I need my trip history?
Usually not to file — administrators verify from the platform records. Having your own export is still useful if eligibility is disputed.
What is the deadline?
Set in the settlement notice and strictly applied. A late claim is normally rejected while the release still binds you, which is why most eligible people recover nothing.
