What the Lawsuits Allege
Wegovy (semaglutide), Novo Nordisk’s GLP-1 weight-loss drug, faces lawsuits alleging it can cause gastroparesis (stomach paralysis), ileus and intestinal blockages, and vision changes or loss, and that the company failed to warn patients adequately. Some suits also reference clot-related and pancreatic injuries.
These are allegations. In late 2025 the Wegovy label was updated to add severe gastrointestinal reactions to its warnings, which plaintiffs cite and the company presents as routine safety updating.
The MDLs
Wegovy claims are part of the same GLP-1 multidistrict litigation in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania (MDL 3094) that covers similar drugs, with thousands of claims and causation as the central battleground. Vision-loss claims were organized into their own coordinated proceeding, and a state court created a separate multicounty litigation for related claims.
The scientific question — whether the drug causes the alleged injuries — will drive the outcome, as it does across the GLP-1 litigation.
What Patients Should Know
Follow your prescriber’s guidance; this is legal-news coverage, not medical advice. There is no settlement or claims fund yet, so treat any site promising a Wegovy payout as lead capture. A claim rests on medical records documenting the injury and its link to the drug.

Thinking About Filing a Claim?
Most plaintiff lawyers offer a free initial consultation and work on contingency, meaning no fee unless there is a recovery. LawsuitWatch is not a law firm: we publish explainers, and we do not provide legal advice, representation or referrals. Your state bar directory is the reliable place to find and verify a lawyer.
